2020 HDA Business and Leadership Conference Canceled

Like your organizations, HDA has continued to monitor developments related to the evolving COVID-19 pandemic, particularly as it relates to our upcoming conferences. Given widespread “stay-at-home” orders across country, including in the Commonwealth of Virginia (where HDA is headquartered) and the State of Colorado, we have decided to cancel the 2020 Business and Leadership Conference on June 7–10 in Colorado Springs. With the continuing concerns about the scope of the virus in the U.S., we felt we could not proceed with a large corporate gathering at this time. 

Thanks go to our meeting registrants, speakers, sponsors and exhibitors for their participation and support. While some aspects of the program will move to next year’s event, we are evaluating alternative approaches to hosting some of the functions of this meeting at another HDA event held later this fall. 

We appreciate your understanding and kindly ask for your patience as we process conference refunds. The Broadmoor is currently closed until May 22; we have asked the hotel to automatically cancel all room reservations, and they will provide deposit refunds. If you have any questions, please contact Brooke Naylor at bnaylor@hda.org

We recognize that this has been an uncertain time as the country collectively grapples with this public health crisis. On behalf of all of us at HDA, we hope you and your families are staying well. 

Cancellation Policies

Company Cancellations

Should your company withdraw from this conference, written cancellations must be postmarked, faxed or emailed to HDA’s Meetings & Conferences department by Friday, April 17, 2020, to qualify for a partial refund. Cancellations will be subject to a $500 processing fee per company plus a $200 processing fee per registrant. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received or postmarked after Friday, April 17, 2020.

Individual Cancellations

Individual cancellations should be emailed to HDA’s Meetings & Conferences department by Friday, April 17, 2020, for a partial refund. Cancellations submitted by this date may be subject to a $200 processing fee. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received or postmarked after Friday, April 17, 2020.

Spouse/guest cancellations must be postmarked, faxed or emailed to HDA’s Meetings & Conferences department by Wednesday, May 27, 2020 for a partial refund. A $50 processing fee will apply. No refunds will be issued for cancellations received or postmarked after Wednesday, May 27, 2020.

Substitutions

Registrations are transferable among individuals from the same company at no additional charge through Friday, May 15, 2020. Substitutions submitted after this date will be subject to a $100 processing fee. Download the substitution form (PDF).
