HDA and its primary pharmaceutical distributor members — a critical link between 1,400 manufacturers and more than 180,000 healthcare providers — are continuing to rise to the challenge of the COVID-19 pandemic.
With the federal government and healthcare supply chain engaged in one of the largest public immunization efforts in recent memory, HDA distributor members have worked tirelessly to navigate the exceptional and unprecedented demands of the nationwide vaccine roll-out. As new vaccines and thousands of administration sites come online, distributors’ partnership with the pharmacy community and all existing healthcare channels should be leveraged to ensure efficiency, and ultimately success, in vaccinating as many Americans as quickly as possible.
Named critical infrastructure by the federal government, distributors continue to adapt and adjust to the global pandemic, protecting the steady supply of critical, lifesaving medicines to hospitals, pharmacies, providers and patients, while maintaining business continuity plans to safeguard the health and safety of their dedicated frontline employees. By leveraging strong relationships at both ends of the supply chain, and working in concert with federal, state and local officials, distributors are directing medicines to the frontlines while continuing to meet the daily healthcare needs of all Americans.
HDA and our members will continue to coordinate closely with public- and private-sector stakeholders as the situation evolves; this page will be updated as additional information is made available.
