Be an Advocate for the Pharmaceutical Distribution Industry
HDA member companies' involvement in advocacy and legislative outreach is important to supporting, protecting and promoting the pharmaceutical distribution industry. As an organization that fosters productive partnerships between supply chain stakeholders and lawmakers, HDA facilitates this outreach by encouraging grassroots member participation in the legislative process.
The Distribution Center Challenge
The challenge to HDA distribution members is this: invite your members of Congress, as well as governors and state legislators, for distribution facility tours during recess periods. The goal of this initiative is to increase the visibility of pharmaceutical distributors to legislators and reinforce advocacy efforts on priority issues for the industry.
Every tour will be recognized in the HDA Weekly Digest throughout the year and in the final HDA advocacy report published at the beginning of the year.
Read the latest advocacy report, the "HDA 2017 Legislative Outlook."
Why a Distribution Center Tour?
Facility tours can help your company develop or expand relationships with your legislators, put a face and name behind your business and illustrate your facility’s capabilities. As legislators draft and vote on legislation, they use the information learned on a distribution center tour to help inform their decisions.
Review the steps in the “Distribution Center Tours: Planning from A-Z.” This document is designed to help you:
- Determine your timeline for inviting, scheduling and engaging your federal or state lawmakers; and,
- Contact your lawmakers, with assistance from HDA, to invite them to your distribution center for a tour.
