ARLINGTON, Va. — Today, the Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA) announced the launch of a new initiative highlighting pharmaceutical distributors’ critical role in the safe, reliable and efficient delivery of medical products to hundreds of thousands of pharmacies, hospitals and other healthcare providers nationwide. The initiative focuses on the work distributors undertake every day, even during the most challenging times, in collaboration with partners across the pharmaceutical supply chain.
“Pharmaceutical distributors are the backbone of the supply chain, delivering critical support services to local pharmacies and other healthcare facilities, and optimizing security and logistics systems to ensure patients anywhere in the country have access to the treatments they need,” said John M. Gray, President and CEO of HDA. “Our industry enables the safe and secure delivery of medicines so licensed healthcare providers, pharmacists and other healthcare facilities nationwide can focus on providing care to the millions of patients they serve.”
HDA's initiative focuses on four key themes:
As part of the initiative, HDA created a microsite — www.HealthDelivered.org — to serve as the digital hub, with new content and stories that bring to life the work distributors do every day across the country. In addition, HDA is launching the first in a series of digital campaigns — That’s A Great Question — to showcase how distributors provide critical support to healthcare providers and supply chain partners. HDA’s advertising will run in select markets, including Washington, D.C., over the course of several months.

The Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA) represents primary pharmaceutical distributors — the vital link between the nation’s pharmaceutical manufacturers and pharmacies, hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics and others nationwide. Since 1876, HDA has helped members navigate regulations and innovations to get the right medicines to the right patients at the right time, safely and efficiently. The HDA Research Foundation, HDA’s non-profit charitable foundation, serves the healthcare industry by providing research and education focused on priority healthcare supply chain issues.
