ARLINGTON, Va. — Following the Biden administration’s announcement of an increase in the supply of available vaccines for millions of Americans, Chester “Chip” Davis, Jr., President and CEO of the Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA), issued a statement.
“Today’s actions by the Biden administration to expand access to 200 million more vaccines represents a major step in our fight against this public health crisis. The rapid increase in allocation reaffirms the critical role the healthcare distribution industry plays in safely and securely transporting COVID-19 vaccines from manufacturer to the nation’s pharmacies, long-term care facilities, hospitals, health systems, physicians’ offices and other sites of care. To date, more than 44 million doses have been distributed to communities across the country, and our industry is committed to doing everything possible to ensure every American has access to a vaccine.”
The Healthcare Distribution Alliance (HDA) represents primary pharmaceutical distributors — the vital link between the nation’s pharmaceutical manufacturers and pharmacies, hospitals, long-term care facilities, clinics and others nationwide. Since 1876, HDA has helped members navigate regulations and innovations to get the right medicines to the right patients at the right time, safely and efficiently. The HDA Research Foundation, HDA’s non-profit charitable foundation, serves the healthcare industry by providing research and education focused on priority healthcare supply chain issues.
