The 2023 PCSC Award recipients include:
General Gustave F. Perna
General Gustave F. Perna is a retired U.S. Army four-star general. Before he retired in 2021, General Perna was the Chief Operating Officer of the federal COVID-19 response for vaccines and therapeutics. He also held the position of Chief Operating Officer of Operation Warp Speed, beginning in July 2020. Before leading Operation Warp Speed, General Perna was the 19th Commander of the U.S. Army Materiel Command from 2016 to 2020. He also served as the Army’s Deputy Chief of Staff, G-4 overseeing policies and procedures used by Army logisticians globally. Prior to joining the Army staff, General Perna was the Deputy Chief of Staff for one of the Army’s largest commands with 190,000 employees, impacting all 50 states and 152 countries. Currently, General Perna is the Chief Operating Officer of DEFCON AI, a software company building next-generation tools for the modern military mobility environment.
Daniel Biran
Daniel “Dan” Biran is the Chief Security Officer, Vice President of Global Security for Biogen. Mr. Biran has been an industry leader in supply chain security, having designed one of the first modern industry Global Security Operations Centers (GSOC), which continues to be emulated today by corporations and companies worldwide. He has supported the PCSC since its inception; Biogen even hosted a PCSC seminar in 2017, where Mr. Biran led tours of the GSOC. While having held several pharmaceutical security roles for various companies, Mr. Biran also served as the Director of Security Operations for Israel’s EL AL Airline and was a Regional Security Officer within Israel’s Diplomatic Security Service, opening the first Israeli Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine.
Anthony Orosz
Anthony “Tony” Orosz is the Assistant Center Director of the Pharmaceutical Center of Excellence at the U.S. Customs & Border Protection. Mr. Orosz has been a long-time PCSC member and has presented at numerous educational seminars held by HDA. His tireless efforts to bolster the integrity of the nation’s supply chain have significantly impacted the government and private-sector partnership necessary to keep the security of America’s pharmaceutical distribution a recognized standard.
Cindy Rosen
Cindy Rosen is the Executive Director of the Transported Asset Protection Association (TAPA) Americas. TAPA, a strategic partner of the PCSC, tackles the problem of cargo thefts from supply chains. As TAPA Americas’ Executive Director for more than 11 years, Ms. Rosen has been a significant influencer in U.S. supply chain security, leading events and regional training. Ms. Rosen’s selfless dedication, unwavering commitment to supply chain security and administrative, organizational and diplomatic skills have significantly impacted various industries while keeping supply chains safe and secure.
“I am honored to present this year’s awards to four individuals who value and advance the mission of the PCSC, particularly at a time when supply chain security is of the utmost importance,” said Chuck Forsaith, Vice President for HDA's Pharmaceutical Cargo Security Coalition. “General Perna, Cindy, Dan and Tony have dedicated their careers to protecting communities and, ultimately, ensuring supply chains, and the people they serve, remain safe and healthy. HDA Presents PCSC Award To Supply Chain Security Leaders
April 05, 2023 The Healthcare Distribution Alliance’s (HDA) Pharmaceutical Cargo Security Coalition (PCSC) today honored four security leaders at the annual PCSC Educational Seminar held in Whippany, N.J. Each year, the PCSC Award is given to supply chain security professionals for distinguished service consistent with the highest traditions of private and public sector safety and security.The 2023 PCSC Award recipients include:
