Developed by HDA’s eCommerce Task Force, this electronic data interchange (EDI) set is intended for use in the healthcare manufacturer bid award and change notice process. The 2019 revision includes a structured and robust capability to address the need for class of trade, contract and account types, GPO contract and member IDs, as well as enhancements to facilitate volume-based tiered pricing within a given contract. Business use case examples have been updated from prior versions to illustrate these enhancements. These guidelines were developed in accordance with the Accredited Standards Committee (ASC) X12 standards, version 4010. A new feature has been added to the 2025 release for a notes and special instructions NTE segment concerning new bid awards. These notes and instructions are intended to inform the wholesale distributor how to load a new bid award into their systems.
